2. Information We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk), we collect your name, email address, and profile information. Clerk manages your credentials — we do not store passwords directly.

Video Content

When you upload videos, we temporarily store them on our cloud infrastructure to process your edits. Video content is used solely to provide the service and is automatically deleted after 30 days.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the service, including editing commands, feature usage, timestamps, and device/browser information. This data helps us improve the service.

Payment Data

Payments are processed by Paddle. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. Paddle provides us with transaction identifiers, subscription status, and billing history for account management purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the service: Process your videos, execute editing commands, render and deliver exports.
  • AI processing: Transcribe audio and interpret natural language editing instructions using third-party AI models.
  • Analytics: Understand how the service is used so we can improve features, performance, and reliability.
  • Billing: Manage subscriptions, process payments, and enforce plan limits.
  • Communication: Send service-related notices such as billing confirmations, security alerts, and important updates.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate EditAI. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data:

Clerk

Authentication and user management. Handles sign-up, sign-in, and session management.

Anthropic (Claude AI)

Interprets your natural language editing instructions and generates editing plans. Transcript text and editing commands are sent to Anthropic for processing.

Deepgram

Transcribes audio from your uploaded videos. Audio data is sent to Deepgram for speech-to-text processing.

Cloudflare R2

Stores uploaded videos and rendered exports. Files are encrypted at rest and in transit.

Supabase

Stores project metadata, editing history, and subscription records. Data is encrypted at rest.

Paddle

Processes payments and manages subscriptions as our Merchant of Record. Handles all payment card data directly.

5. Data Storage and Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Video files are stored on Cloudflare R2 with server-side encryption and are automatically deleted 30 days after upload.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies and Tracking

EditAI uses functional cookies set by Clerk for authentication and session management. These cookies are essential for the service to operate and cannot be disabled while using EditAI.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data and account.
  • Export: Request a portable copy of your data.
  • Account closure: Close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

8. Children's Privacy

EditAI is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of EditAI after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
